What is The Date Dish:

The Date Dish is an online recipe resource with instructional cooking videos for anyone looking to make a meal for their significant other.  The Date Dish is categorized by the status of your relationship and provides helpful ideas on what to make for any occasion.  Whether it's a first date, a celebration or breakfast in bed, I'm here to make cooking easy and help you impress your significant other with culinary skills you didn't even know you had.

What inspired you to start The Date Dish:

After falling in love with incredible cuisine and romance while living in Milan, I came back to the United States with a new appreciation for the role that food plays in our lives.  After all, the majority of dates are centered around sharing a meal together. Throughout my 20's, my friends would always ask me for advice on what to cook for a date.  Seeing the need for an online resource for date night recipes, I created The Date Dish to help others realize that there is no reason to be intimidated by cooking, and that there is no better date than a romantic meal at home.

What's your best secret cooking tip?

Have a food emergency? Use SOS (Seasonal, Organic, Simple).  Pick seasonal and organic ingredients, find a simple yet impressive recipe, and you'll never go wrong.  No need to recreate the sea urchin mousse you saw on Top Chef, just make sure you have great ingredients and an easy and delicious recipe like my Chicken Milanese.

What's the one thing from your kitchen you can't live without?

High-quality olive oil.  Go for the good stuff!  It makes such a difference when finishing all types of dishes and salads.

What's your all time favorite thing you've eaten?

Mediterranean stuffed whole Branzino on the coast of Croatia.  Perfectly cooked whole fish that's caught to order is my weakness after spending time traveling the Mediterranean. The fish cheeks are actually a very tasty delicacy!

If you were  a Scratch DC bundle, what meal would you be and why?

- A gourmet homemade pizza with wild mushrooms, ricotta, mozzarella, truffle oil and a fried egg.  I want people to get their hands dirty and have fun while cooking.  Making an incredible gourmet pizza together encourages couples to have fun in the kitchen.

If you could eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Dark chocolate, no question.  I can't go a day without it.
